While simple and solemn vows were professed at Saint Vincent Archabbey during the weekend of July 10-11 in honor of the Feast of Saint Benedict, two monks also professed vows at Wimmer Priory in Taipei.

Father Augustine Yang, O.S.B., a classmate of Brother Gilbert Heater, O.S.B., and Brother Anselm Zhang, O.S.B., professed solemn vows before Prior Father David Ho, O.S.B. at the prior. Brother Andrew Kim, O.S.B., renewed his vows for an additional year with plans to make solemn vows in 2022.

Father Augustine is the son of Li-yue Lin and the late Ye-si Yang of Taipei City, Taiwan.

He attended Taipei Municipal Yucheng elementary school and graduated in 1991 from Heng Yee Catholic High School. He studied philosophy at Saint Pius X Seminary, then earned the bachelor of sacred theology degree from Fu Jen Catholic University in 1997. He completed a master of arts degree in counseling psychology in 2002 at De La Salle  University, the Philippines.

Father Augustine was ordained to the priesthood on December 13, 2003 in Yilan City, Taiwan.

He entered the novitiate at Saint Vincent Archabbey on July 1, 2017 and made simple profession of monastic vows on July 10, 2018.

His assignments have included assistant to the director of Oblates (2018-2020) and assistant in the summer retreat program (2019-2020). He has also been assigned to weekend mission at various parishes throughout the region.

In 2020 Father Augustine began graduate studies at Fu Jen University, Taiwan.

Brother Andrew (Dongha) Kim, O.S.B., is the son of Ji Hyun and Heong Suk Kim. He was born in Seoul, Korea and has one sibling, Kyeong Ha Kim.

He attended Tiong-Jin Elementary School and graduated in 2004 from Shin-Sung High School. He earned a master of theology degree from Suwon Catholic University in 2012.

He made simple profession of monastic vows on July 10, 2018.

His assignments at the Archabbey have included assistant in monastery music (2018-2019) and an assistant in the summer retreat program (2018-2019), assistant manager, Saint Vincent Gristmill (2018-2020), assistant manager, Basilica Gift Shop (2019-2020) and as assistant to the campus gardens and landscaping coordinator (2018-2020). He served as sacristan and assistant master of ceremonies (2019-2020).

He studied at Saint Vincent Seminary from 2018-2020.

He began serving at Wimmer Priory in Taiwan in 2020.
