Tree of Life Responder To Speak at Blue Mass October 13

A Saint Vincent College graduate and Pittsburgh Bureau of Police officer who was among the first to respond to the tragic Tree of Life Synagogue shooting on October 27, 2018, will speak at the annual Blue Mass, to be held at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, October 13 at the Saint Vincent Archabbey Basilica. The Blue Mass honors local and state police officers, firefighters and emergency medical service personnel for their service, as well as those who have died in the line of duty.

Jacob Maxwell Noonan is a Zone 5 police officer for the City of Pittsburgh. He graduated from Saint Vincent College with a degree in criminology, law and society in 2016, where he also played football and ran track. While at Saint Vincent he was a member of the addiction study research team led by Dr. Eric Kocian. He helped conduct interviews, code and analyze data on addiction and recovery and gave numerous presentations to local, state and federal agencies.

After Saint Vincent, he entered the Pittsburgh Police Academy and graduated with the Leadership Award for his platoon.

He is a 2012 graduate of Cumberland Valley High School, where he also played football and was a member of the track team.
