To Follow Christ: Michael Antonacci’s Vocation Story

The Saint Vincent Archabbey Vocation Office and the Archabbey Communications Office has teamed up with the Pittsburgh video production company Ox Productions to launch a new series of vocation videos—To Follow Christ—featuring monks of the Archabbey. Life at the monastery, its challenges, its blessings, as well as the call to religious life are among the topics covered.

When Michael Antonacci graduated from Hempfield High School and came to Saint Vincent College to study physics and mathematics, he wasn’t even Catholic. But as he began to interact with some of the Benedictines who taught at Saint Vincent, his interest was piqued and, as he says in the video, he discovered that these men were at a “different level.”

Now a monk and a priest with a doctorate in physics from the University of North Carolina, he teaches in the Saint Vincent College Physics Department and is also an assistant to the novice master in the Archabbey Vocation program.  Here is his story:
