Ignatius Camello was working as an intensive care unit nurse in Los Angeles when he went on a retreat in Philadelphia with a friend. They were driving back west on Route 30 when they spied the steeples of the Archabbey Basilica and were drawn to stop. He was drawn to Saint Vincent, and is now a Benedictine monk and a priest, serving in a parish in northwestern Pennsylvania. But he knows that no matter where he serves in his ministry, he will have a home in Latrobe. Even though at the time he wasn’t sure what he was looking for, now he knows that he found it and his “community” at Saint Vincent.
For more information on vocations, visit the Archabbey Vocation website, or to arrange a visit fill out this form. The next “Come and See” weekend for men considering a call to monastic life and priesthood is May 23-25, 2025. There will be another “Come and See” in July.
