Three To Make Simple Vows

Three men who have spent a year as novices in the Saint Vincent Archabbey monastic community will profess simple vows on Thursday, July 10. They are Brother Ignatius Camello, O.S.B., of the Philippines; Brother Mark Liatti, O.S.B., of Lyndhurst, Ohio and Brother Matthew Hershey, O.S.B., of State College. These monks will then spend three years in temporary vows prior to professing solemn vows, or vows for life.

BROTHER IGNATIUS CAMELLO, O.S.B.

Brother Ignatius Camello, O.S.B., is the son of Reynaldo and Desideria Camello of Cotabato City, the Philippines. He attended Notre Dame Elementary School and graduated from Notre Dame High School for Boys in 1988. Both schools are in the Philippines. He earned a bachelor of science degree in nursing from Notre Dame University, Cotabato City, the Philippines, in 1992.

BROTHER MARK LIATTI, O.S.B.

Brother Mark L. Liatti, O.S.B., is the son of Lloyd and Kathleen Liatti of Lyndhurst, Ohio. He attended Saint Gregory the Great and Saint Clare elementary schools, and graduated from Saint Joseph High School in 1983. He earned a bachelor of science degree in math and physics from the University of Dayton in 1987, a master of science degree in math from Auburn University in 1991 and a doctorate in math from Auburn in 2002. He served in the United States Navy from 1992 to 1994.

BROTHER MATTHEW HERSHEY, O.S.B.

Brother Matthew D. Hershey, O.S.B., is the son of Bob and Mary Hershey of State College. He attended Our Lady of Victory elementary school and is a graduate of State College Area High School. He earned a degree in special education from Franciscan University of Steubenville in 2008.
