Three novices were invested with the monastic habit on the morning of July 10, following their arrival on the first of the month to begin a year of discernment. They include Salvador Isaac Garcia of Mexico, Abe Reeder of Park Hills, Kentucky and James Bobak of Grand Island, New York. All spent time as postulants before entering the novitiate.
Garcia, now Brother Isaac, studied communication and journalism from the UNAM Acatlán Faculty of Higher Studies, graduating in 2011. He is a 2005 graduate of College of Sciences and Humanities, Naucalpan, Mexico. He is the son of Carmen Garcia Huitron of Naucalpan Centro, Mexico, and the late Salvador Garcia Sanchez. His siblings are Adriana Montserrat Garcia Garcia, and Pablo Jacob Garcia Garcia, both of Mexico City.
Reeder, who is now Brother Abraham, attended Thomas More College and Franciscan University, from which he graduated in 2024 with a degree in theology. His parents are Michael and Kelly Reeder.
Bobak, now known as Brother Jakob, has a Bachelor of Arts degree in music composition from the University at Buffalo, graduating in 2015, and has also studied at Christ the King Seminary and Saint Mary’s Seminary and University. He graduated from Grand Island Senior High School. His parents are Jerome and Denise Bobak. His siblings are Stephen Bobak, Kihei, Hawaii; Maria Franjoine, Sanborn, New York; Jeremy Bobak, Clay, New York; Joshua Bobak, Grand Island, New York.
