Sixteen to Mark Jubilees in 2001

 Sixteen Benedictines from Saint Vincent Archabbey will mark 60th, 50th and 25th jubilees of their priesthood ordinations and professions of vows in 2001.

Included in this year’s class of jubilarians is the Archbishop of Milwaukee, Most Rev. Rembert G. Weakland, O.S.B., who is marking the 50th jubilee of his ordination.

Other members of the jubilarian class include Rev. Roland L. Heid, O.S.B., retired professor of mathematics and physics at Saint Vincent College, celebrating the 60th jubilee of his ordination; Rev. Clair F. Gannon, O.S.B., retired Pastor of Sacred Heart Church, St. Marys, celebrating the 60th jubilee of his ordination and Rev. Kieran J. Rodgers, O.S.B., who has pastored parishes in the Altoona-Johnstown, Erie and Pittsburgh dioceses, marking the 60th jubilee of his profession of vows. Also celebrating the 60th jubilee of their professions of vows are Rev. Joel R. Lieb, O.S.B., emeritus professor of biology at Saint Vincent College and retired pastor of Forty Martyrs Church, Trauger; and Rev. Christian G. LeFrois, O.S.B., currently serving as administrator of Queen of Peace Parish, Lakeland, Georgia.

Marking the 50th jubilee of his ordination to the priesthood is Rev. Paschal N. Kneip, O.S.B., pastor emeritus of Saint Gregory the Great Parish, Virginia Beach. Marking the 50th jubilees of their professions of vows are Rev. John Murtha, O.S.B., former President of Saint Vincent College; Rev. Blane L. Resko, O.S.B., pastor of St. Bruno Parish, South Greensburg; Rev. Conan Feigh, O.S.B., a campus minister at Penn State University since 1987; Rev. Claude W. Pollak, O.S.B., pastor at St. Nicholas Parish, Nicktown; and Rev. Bede J. Hasso, O.S.B., retired pastor of St. Martin Parish, New Derry.

Celebrating the 25th jubilee of his ordination is Rev. David R. Griffin, O.S.B., Campus Ministry Director of Saint Vincent College. Marking 25 years in monastic vows are Rev. Thomas P. Acklin, O.S.B., who served for 12 years as Rector of Saint Vincent Seminary; Rev. James F. Podlesny, O.S.B., pastor of Church of the Holy Spirit, Palmyra, and Br. Hilary D. Hanrahan, O.S.B., currently serving as Business Manager of the National Association of Treasurers for Religious Institutes (NATRI), in Silver Spring, Md.
