Saint Vincent Sports from Past to Present Exhibit Opens February 15

Archabbey Publications announces the opening of a Saint Vincent sports photo exhibit on Monday, February 15, from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Gristmill Museum, Beatty Road. The exhibit will run for two weeks during regular Gristmill General Store hours, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays to Saturdays, closing March 1.

The exhibit features 30 photographs of Saint Vincent as well as sports history artifacts ranging from the 1890s to the 1980s. Items such as a letterman’s jacket and football from the Tangerine Bowl and other sporting equipment can be viewed. Photographs displayed highlight the earliest sports at Saint Vincent and the variations in uniform styles and equipment over time. The changing campus of Saint Vincent is evident throughout the photos featured.

Father Ananias Buccicone, O.S.B., will provide a variety of baked goods for the opening. Those in attendance on opening night will also receive a coupon for 15 percent off a purchase at the Gristmill Coffee Shop.

The exhibit was designed and prepared by graduate and student Archabbey Public Relations staff members including Lauren Lamendola, Jordan Hainsey, Carly Marsh, and Melissa Kaminski. It is a sequel to the second in a series of Saint Vincent Past to Present books that is currently in development. The photos on display may be purchased during opening night and picked up at the close of the exhibit. Archabbey Publications staff members will also be available that evening to talk to patrons and gather information about Saint Vincent sports teams.
