Recent Pastoral Assignments

Recent pastoral appointments include:

Father Michael J. Gabler, O.S.B., as pastor of Sacred Heart Parish, St. Marys. A 1989 graduate of Penn State University, and a 2008 graduate of Saint Vincent Seminary, he has also studied at the Savannah College of Art and Design. He has served at Saint Gregory the Great Parish, Virginia Beach and Saint Nicholas Parish, Nicktown.

Father James Podlesny, O.S.B., as pastor of Saint Cecilia Parish, Whitney and Sacred Heart Parish, Youngstown. Father James earned a bachelor of arts degree in philosophy from Penn State University in 1975; a master of divinity degree from Saint Vincent Seminary in 1980; a licentiate in Sacred Theology (S.T.L.) from The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., in 1988, and a doctorate in Sacred Theology at Catholic University. He has taught at Saint Vincent College and Saint Vincent Seminary and most recently served as pastor of Church of the Holy Spirit, Palmyra in the Diocese of Harrisburg.

Father Jeremiah Lange, O.S.B., has been named hospital chaplain at Westmoreland Excela Health, Greensburg. Before coming ot the monastery he earned a master of arts/Ed.S. degree in counseling from the University of South Carolina, and a doctorate in higher education administration from the University of Florida. He was employed as a district counselor of secondary education in the Osceola City School District; Park Place Behavioral Center, Kissimmee, as a drug and alcohol abuse counselor.

Father Alfred Patterson, O.S.B., has been named pastor of Saint Nicholas Parish, Nicktown. He earned a bachelor of arts degree in religious education from Saint Vincent College in 1985, and a master of divinity degree from Saint Vincent Seminary in 1990. His pastoral service has included pastor and parochial vicar of Saint Mary’s Church, St. Marys, and hospital chaplain in St. Marys; chaplain at Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg, pastor of Immaculate Conception Parish, New Germany and Saint John the Baptist Parish, Summerhill; parohical vicar at Sacred Heart Parish in Jeannette, and faculty and staff member at Benedictine Priory and Military School, Savannah.

Father Peter Augustine Pierjok, O.S.B., has been named pastor of Saint Mary’s Church, St. Marys. He earned a bachelor of arts degree in design from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, in 1969, studied philosophy at both Bradley University, Peoria, Illinois, and at Saint Vincent College, and earned a master of divinity degree from Saint Vincent Seminary in 1987. He most recently served as pastor of Sacred Heart Parish, Youngstown, and Saint Cecilia Parish, Whitney.He has served as chaplain at Latrobe Area Hospital, chaplain to the Carmelite sisters, and administrator of Forty Martyrs Parish.

Father Pio Adamonis, O.S.B., has been named chaplain at Seton Hill University, Greensburg. Ordained to the priesthood in 2016, Father Pio has a master of divinity degree from Saint Vincent Seminary. He earned a bachelor of science degree in marketing from Penn State University in 1990. He has served as sacristan and assistant master of ceremonies for the Archabbey, as well as in the public relations office.
