Saint Vincent College has named Father Dominic Sylvester Leo, O.S.B., S’19, a monk of Saint Vincent Archabbey, as the director of alumni relations for the Office of Philanthropy and Alumni Relations.
“We’re excited to have a member of the Benedictine community step into this important role,” said
Albert J. Novak Jr., C’81, senior vice president for philanthropy and alumni relations at the
College. “Father Dominic will be central to our efforts of building relationships with all our alumni,
and having a Benedictine in that role is positive in countless ways.”
A native of Bangalore, India, Father Dominic for the past three years served as parish
administrator at Saint Gregory the Great Parish in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He received a Master
of Divinity degree from Saint Vincent Seminary in 2019 and is a member of the College’s Board of
Directors.
Father Dominic graduated in 1988 from Saint Aloysius Junior College and received a bachelor’s
degree in taxation in 1991 from Saint Joseph’s College of Commerce. He earned the Master of
Science in Information Technology in 2004 from Karnataka State Open University.
On May 25, 2019, Father Dominic was ordained to the priesthood by Most Rev. Edward C.
Malesic, bishop of the Diocese of Greensburg, at Saint Vincent Archabbey Basilica.
Past roles at the Archabbey have included serving as socius of novices, sacristan, assistant master of ceremonies and assistant in the Vocation Office. He was also assistant manager of the general store and miller at the Saint Vincent Gristmill.
