Andre Watts paid tribute to Fred Rogers in an event to benefit the Fred M. Rogers Center for Early Learning and Children’s Media. Brother Norman Hipps was named Dean of the School of Natural Sciences, Mathematics and Computing and Information Science, while Father Rene Kollar was named Dean of the School of Humanities and Fine Arts. William H. Isler, president of Family Communications, received the Presidential Medal of Honor at the spring Honors Convocation. Father Thomas Hart was named Assistant to the President for Mission and Brother Nathan Cochran coordinated the effort to beatify Emperor Karl. Father Germain Lieb was honored by Prep Alumni and a scholarship fund was started to honor Father Albert Bickerstaff. Jim Towey, White House Director of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives, received an honorary degree from Saint Vincent Seminary, and the abbey retreat program established a web page.
