Liz Cousins, associate director of Saint Vincent Archabbey and Seminary Public Relations, won a third place national award from the Catholic Press Association on Friday, June 19, for an article in the Archabbey’s magazine Heart to Heart. Liz won third place recognition for Best Feature Article, Religious Order Magazines for an article, “Monks in the Military.” The judges noted that the “author does an excellent job at bringing to light a topic that deserves more attention while also listing a history of this particular type of ministry.”

Heart to Heart competes with many national magazines in this competition. Liz, of Mount Pleasant, has a bachelor of science in journalism from West Virginia University and an MBA from Wheeling Jesuit University. Liz is editor of the Seminary’s magazine, Leaven.
