Fourteen Benedictines to Mark Jubilees this Spring

 Fourteen Saint Vincent Benedictines will mark a total of 670 years of service this spring when they celebrate the 60th, 50th and 25th jubilees of their ordinations or professions of monastic vows.

Father Brendan L. Smetana, O.S.B., will celebrate the 60th anniversary of his ordination on June 16. Marking sixty years of their professions of monastic vows on July 2 will be Father Wilfred M. Dumm, O.S.B., now serving in Savannah, Georgia; +Father Charles A. Weber, O.S.B., who served in a number of western Pennsylvania parishes; Father Germain L. Lieb, O.S.B., professor emeritus at Saint Vincent Seminary; Father Godfrey F. Burkhardt, O.S.B., professor emeritus of accounting and finance at Saint Vincent College; Father Ermin R. Smith, who served as spiritual director at Saint Vincent Seminary, and Father Robert J. Roche, O.S.B., currently assisting in pastoral ministry at Queen of Peace Parish, Patton.

Celebrating the 50th anniversary of his ordination on June 11 will be Father John Erickson, O.S.B., anthropology professor emeritus at Saint Vincent College. Marking the 50th jubilees of their professions of vows on July 2 will be Father Justin Nolan, O.S.B., and professor of philosophy at Saint Vincent College, and Father Leo P. Rothrauff, O.S.B., who has served in numerous capacities at the Archabbey’s mission in Brazil since 1964.

Marking the 25th anniversary of his ordination on May 24 will be Father Stephen Honeygosky, O.S.B., pastor of St. Benedict Parish, Marguerite. Celebrating the 25th anniversary of their professions of vows on July 10 will be Father Leon Hont, O.S.B., pastor of Queen of the World Parish, Saint Marys; Father Jude W. Brady, O.S.B., president of Benedictine Military School in Savannah, Georgia and prior of Benedictine Priory in Savannah, and Father William Wurm, O.S.B., director of the Opportunity Program at Saint Vincent College.
