The December 19 talk will be by Father Basil Burns, O.S.B., on “Holiness of Life in Benedictine Spirituality.” Father Basil is from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and completed a bachelor of science degree in politics from Louisiana State University a master of arts degree from LSU in 1995 in political theory. He received a master of arts degree in systematic theology from Notre Dame Seminary, Louisiana, in 2001, and earned a doctorate in philosophy from the University of Dallas in 2013. He was a monk of Saint Benedict Abbey, Louisiana until he came to Saint Vincent Archabbey in July of 2019. Most of his ministry has been in leading retreats and in teaching.
