The Latrobe Ministerium will hold a Prayer Service for Christian Unity Sunday, January 24, in Saint Vincent Basilica, Latrobe. Scheduled for 3 p.m., this year’s theme is “You are witnesses of these things”, Luke 24, vs.48. Guest speaker will be Rev. Edward M. Mazich, O.S.B.

A native of Danville , Father Edward entered the Benedictine Order at Saint Vincent in 1994 and professed vows the following year. He was ordained a priest in 2001. He holds an undergraduate degree in mathematics from Penn State and advanced degrees in theology and exegesis from Roman universities. He recently received a doctorate in theology from the University of Oxford in England.

At present Father Edward teaches Christology, theological anthropology and Greek at Saint Vincent Seminary, and is Novice Master at the Archabbey.
