We kick off a week or so of commemorative posts in remembrance of the Day of Fire and Ice, the Saint Vincent Fire of January 28, 1963. Much of the content was developed in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the fire, where Saint Vincent honored all of those who helped save the campus. While much of the campus was destroyed, many buildings were not. The first in the series of the videos features Brother Timothy Waid, O.S.B., who was serving as a nurse in the infirmary at the time of the fire. He, along with Father Warren Murrman in other installments, walks through the present-day buildings and recalls what used to be. The videos were shot by the late Father Andrew, O.S.B.
