Brother Isaac Haywiser, O.S.B., Ordained To Diaconate

Brother Isaac (Paul) Haywiser, O.S.B., was ordained to the diaconate on May 3 by Most Rev. Lawrence E. Brandt, J.C.D., Ph.D., Bishop of Greensburg.

Brother Isaac is the son of Mark and Ellen Haywiser of Bethel Park, PA. He is the brother of Peter Haywiser, Luke Haywiser, and Stephen Haywiser.

He is a 2005 graduate of Bethel Park High School, Bethel Park. He earned a bachelor of science degree in 2009 in management from Saint Vincent College and is a student at Saint Vincent Seminary.

He enter the novitiate of Saint Vincent Archabbey in 2009 and made simple professon of monastic vows on July 9, 2010. He made solemn profession of vows on July 11, 2013. He was ordained to the diaconate on May 3, 2014 by Most Rev. Lawrence E. Brandt, J.C.D., Ph.D., Bishop of Greensburg, in the Archabbey Basilica.

He also served as assistant to the manager, Gristmill General Store from 2010-2011 and in 2011 was appointed assistant to the director at the Saint Vincent College bookstore. He served as an assistant in the summer retreat program from 2010-2012. In 2010 he was named assistant director, Archabbey guests and guest facilities. In 2013 he was named assistant to the director, Archabbey finances and investments as well as sacristan and assistant master of ceremonies.

His home parish is Saint Valentine in Bethel Park.
